Since its introduction in the 1980s, DNA profiling has revolutionised forensic science with high sensitivity and specificity. In this subject, you will explore emerging DNA technologies that go beyond standard short tandem repeat (STR) profiling and first-generation sequencing and which are useful when a STR profile doesn’t match a suspect or a database record.
